First Zoo Trip of 2018

A few years of going to the Toronto Zoo regularly with my friends Andre and Olsi has really cemented my passion for animals. Early last year I had the unique opportunity to go to the Woodland Park Zoo (oh my goodness, best zoo! pictures to come) and the Oregon Zoo while visiting Olsi in Seattle. These experiences have shown me not just how much I appreciate animals but also how great it is to share that respect with others.

Our most recent zoo trip was one of my favourites! Because of prior planning we had 8 of us going - the biggest group yet - and because of the freezing cold weather it was like we had the zoo to ourselves.

(I've attested to the fact that the zoo is best in the winter and this is for a few reasons: less people willing to brave the cold, animals are happier because there's less people, and some animals enjoy the cold better because of their thick fur/hair.)

We were lucky enough to see the new spotted leopard cubs very briefly, the giraffe feeding / keeper talk, the cheetah keeper talk (plus the cheetah just strolling through the snow - the contrast is so damn beautiful), and we spent a ton of time watching the new snow leopard cubs playing around in the snow.

Anyways, now that I'm done rambling, here are the best photos I got that day (January 2nd).
